Online Craps Strategy
I am a firm believer for the best strategy to approaching any casino game, is
to first familiarize yourself with the worst bets, and avoid these death traps
at all costs. Casinos always win in the end because even as nominal as it may
be, the house has created an edge over the player with respect to the true odds.
That's why as a player, you must develop a strategy that minimizes the house's
advantage in the end to improve your chances of winning in the short run.
Ideally we would like to shift the advantage on us, but in the game of online craps,
it is just not possible.
The best online craps strategy is once again, to find the best online casino
that offers the player the greatest chance of winning. There is one bet where
the house retains no edge over the player, and his winnings pay out at true
odds. You're going to want to take advantage of the internet and the competitive
nature of the online
gambling industry. Find the casino that allows the largest multiplier
for true odds betting limits. The house retains an advantage on the pass line
bet, but no edge over the true odds that you can bet behind it. So logically,
you are going to want to bet the minimum on the pas line, and come in for the
most money that you can behind it on the true odds bets. Anything at ten times
true odds or better is defiantly a game worth playing.
There are millions of craps systems that claim to minimize the house
advantage, but overall, none of them can take down the house in the end. But
this is where you can get creative. I'm a poker player at heart, and I tend to
think like a lawyer. When I gamble, I put the main focus on not loosing and
consider winning to be a bonus. With that in mind, I once realized a foolproof
bet that made it impossible for me to lose. I'm sure you are familiar with the
concept of hedging your bet in relationship to playing craps. In essence, all
that it means is that no matter what the outcome, you will always win a small
percentage of bet by covering all of your bases. If you were to bet $100 on the
"don't pass" line and the shooter made a point of five, you could then place $80
on the five and lock-up a guaranteed profit. If the seven hits you will win $100
and lose $80 resulting in a net profit of $20. If it's the five that hits, you
will win $114 while losing $100 resulting in a net profit of $14. Sounds nice,
but in the long run you will lose money doing this because betting the don't
pass line means that you have to get by the seven and the eleven on the come out
roll or you ill lose your initial stake.
So getting back to my story and the one time I realized a foolproof bet. One
night I was playing craps in the casino and losing. The guy next to me was
constantly betting $100 on the "don't pass" line and taking down the bet if the
point was a six or an eight. He had already got past the come out roll, so all
he had to do was hedge the point and lock in a profit. I questioned his
reasoning for taking down his bet and then offered to buy it from him. I gave
$101 for a $100 "don't pass" on the six bet. Then I placed $90 on the 6, and
when the seven was rolled I made $10. Had the six have been rolled first, I
would have made $5, but never at any point could I lose. So in closing I offer
you this. There's no such thing as a free lunch in the game of
Craps,
it is just not possible.
, unless of course you can find yourself a real sucker and take advantage of his
ignorance. Otherwise you are just left to playing smart by betting the pass
line, and exploiting the free odds bets by betting the maximum.
